INTRODUCTION
Rockmax Latex is a modified polymer emulsion bonding agent suitable to use in many applications include bonding agent between old and new concrete, new to new, old to old concrete substrate, waterproof render mortar, adhesive bonding grout, improve floor screed properties and improve durability in cement mortar. Rockmax Latex is a dispersion of internally plasticized high polymer resin in water. It is a ready to use and milk white liquid with a viscosity only slightly greater than that of water.
AREA OF USES
Rockmax Latex can used to improve bonding, adhesion, durability, watertight and protection to cement mortar. The application areas include mortar, render, plastering, floor screed, bonding construction joints, preventions of cold joints, leveling of floor, application on vertical and horizontal areas, portable waters and etc.
ADVANTAGES
- Excellent adhesion.
- Excellent water resistance.
- Increase durability
- High elasticity.
- Interior or exterior use.
- Reduce shrinkage.
- Can apply in portable water.
- Simply mix with cement, sand and water.
- Widely use for bonding old to new concrete.
- Ready to use.
- Use as bonding for repair materials.
APPLICATION AND INSTALLATION
SURFACE PREPARATION
The substrates must be sound, clean and free from dust, dirt, oil, laitance and loose particles. Pre wet substrate before application of latex but no standing water.
APPLICATION
Bonding agent for old and new concrete
Mix ratio (by weight)
Latex : Water : 1 : 1
Cement : Sand : 1 : 1
(Note: a suitable sand will generally conform to the requirements of ASTM C144)
Dry blend cement and sand together. Mix latex and water approximate 1 minute. Add mixed sand and cement into the mixed and continue mix for 1 or 2 minute until homogeneous. The latex slurry should be thick and creamy consistency. Apply latex slurry on the prepared area with minimum 1mm thickness and maximum 3mm thickness.
The topping must be applied while the bonding slurry is still soft and plastic.
PACKAGING
25litre gallon.
STORAGE
Storage in shade and dry condition at 10-40ºC. Avoid from sunlight, frost, water, moisture and high temperature.
